Editorial Policy
Last updated on November 3, 2026
I want you to trust the numbers on this site. This policy shows how I produce them and what I do when I get one wrong.
What I publish
I publish one gratuity calculator and the short explainers around it. Each page answers one question in plain words.
Where my facts come from
I rank sources by how close they sit to the law.
- Legislation text, such as the UAE's Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021.
- Government and ministry pages.
- Law firm and payroll summaries, which I use only to cross-check.
If two sources disagree, I follow the law text and note the gap on the page.
Fact versus opinion
Rules, rates, and limits are facts, and each one comes from a source. Tips such as asking HR for a written settlement letter are my opinion. I word them as advice, never as law.
How I test the math
I work each example by hand before I publish it. I then enter the same numbers in the calculator and compare the result. The tool counts exact days, so I say so when a date range will land slightly off a rounded example.
Reviews and updates
I review a country's rules when a law changes or a reader reports a problem. India is the latest case. Its labour codes took effect on November 21, 2025, and they added gratuity for fixed-term staff after 1 year. Every page shows the date of its last update.
Corrections
Please write to me if you find an error. Send the page, the rule, and a source if you have one. I check each report, fix confirmed errors fast, and log material changes below.
Change log
| Date | Change |
|---|---|
| November 3, 2026 | Added fixed-term eligibility for India under the labour codes in force since November 21, 2025. |
| November 3, 2026 | Added a US dollar estimate with an exchange rate field. |
Independence
No company pays for coverage here. If I ever add ads or sponsors, I will label them and keep them away from the calculator results.
How I use AI tools
I use AI tools to help with drafting and with checking math. I read every page, test every formula, and answer for what goes live.
What I will not do
- Invent reviews, credentials, or statistics.
- Copy text from other sites.
- Give legal, tax, or financial advice.
- Present an estimate as a final legal amount.
